MTN is big in Nigeria and obviously the biggest GSM network, covering a wide range of locations on the length and breadth of the country. It is no longer news that MTN probably has the fastest internet service for the 3 big networks, operating on a 3.5G service. If you are internet savvy and have been using a mobile sim card to connect the internet and think your speed is not fast enough, then perhaps it is time you tried the Broadband service.
3.5G is probably the fastest personal internet service (aside Wifi and VSAT) we currently have in Nigeria as some other networks are still on dial up, 2g, 3.0g although we are still expecting 4g and more.
What really is the MTN 3.5G Mobile Broadband? Well no one can explain it better than MTN from their website: http://www.mtnonline.com/index.php/mtn-broadband.html

MTN introduces 3.5G Mobile Broadband, MTN's high-speed mobile data service. MTN 3.5G Mobile Broadband service opens up a whole new dimension of fast and simple working and harnesses the advantages of mobility, taking internet access in Nigeria to a whole new level. It helps you stay connected at almost any time, and makes your business and personal information and entertainment as mobile as you are, when you're working within MTN's coverage areas.

With 3.5G Broadband MTN customers will benefit from download data speed up to 4-5 times faster than currently available, offering for the first time a mobile experience that can truly be described as broadband.

You can enjoy the Broadband service on your device if it is 3.5g compatible like a Nokia N96, Iphone or other capable smart phone. 3.5g Broadband service is higly reliable for mobile browsing and eevn more suitable for full internet browsing on your Computer. Tobe be able to enjoy the MTN Broadband service on your Laptop or Desktop, you will need to have a HSPDA device which will house an MTN sim.
MTN already has such a device which can help deliver the service and speed up your browsing in case you don't have one of your own. Currently the MTN-branded USB modem sells for N8500 and you can get this together with a 24 hr internet service plan which costs N10,000 per month and then an MTN sim that sells for N150.
You may also try other plans, however you should first consider the fixed costs of getting it set up for full browsing:

Fixed Costs:
- USB Modem: N8500
- MTN Sim: N150

Variable Costs:
- 24 hrs browsing: N10,000 per month
- Day Browsing: N500/day
- Pay as you go: N15/kb

To get started for the MTN Broadband service for full internet browsing, you may approach any MTN customer service close to you and it would require some proper identification like a passport photo, id card, fill application forms and then make the necessary payments for subscription.
