How to set up a Gmail account - Multidox .:.:. Blog

After many years of sticking with a free Yahoo mail account, I decided to try out a Gmail account mostly because of the desire to be abel to access my email on my mobile without disruptions from m.gmail.com. Well, it was also primarily because for the past few minutes, I have been trying to access my Yahoo mail on my mobile from m.yahoo.com but it was returning errors - Perhaps, yahoo mail is having problems and not letting my phone or even web browser to access it at this time. I then made up my mind to set up an alternate email account and the next thing that came to mind was Gmail.
To set up a Gmail account is quite easy, especially if you are already on the Google network. All you need to do is:

1. Go to www.gmail.com and enter your log in information if you are already signed up with Google or click on create new account - I went for the former
2. The nest page requires for you alternate email, then your secret Q and A.
3. Next is to select your country and enter mobile number for verification purposes. If you are in Nigeria and using a GSM number make sure you include 234 then 80****** as in 234803******** and select your mode of verification e.g Text or Voice call.
4. If you choose text, and enter, then Google immediately sends an sms to you that says: "Your Google verification code is ******".
5. Go back to the website and enter the received code in the text box you are given to verify your account by clicking on Verify.
6. You are then redirected to Gmail where you will be introduced to its services.
7. You may then process by clicking the button - "show me my account"
*After successfully signing up with Gmail, you receive the following introductory message:

Congratulations!
You've successfully signed up for Gmail! Here's a quick run through to help you get comfortable.
