There are whole lot of fake Nokia batteries flooding the Nigerian market and these have its source mainly from China. I have been a victim of this fake product one time too many until I finally decided to go to the Nokia website to see how one can really detect a fake from an Original. Well Nokia has a lot of detail about how to do so. What you need to do is to look at the Hologram on the battery that carries the inscription - Nokia. It is a sticker that comes with a genuine Nokia battery. If the battery you want to buy does not carry this Hologram, then just don't buy it because it is probably fake.

How to really detect an original Nokia battery:
1. Look at the Hologram and move it to the left, right, up and down. You will see the nokia logo moving in opposite direction
2. Colours will be changing as you move it in these four directions
3. The connecting hands Nokia logo would also be moving as you tilt the hologram in these directions
4. Note the seeming invisible connecting Nokia hands at the bottom of the hologram where some letters are written
5. You can use the interactive movie attached above to see how a Nokia battery hologram would behave when you move your mouse over it. It indicates how the hologram would respond when you angle it in different directions

It's a fake, if the hologram does not respond in like manner as mentioned above or if there's no hologram at all
