A. Mobisocial is used to connect Starcomms to Facebook:

Starcomms Nigeria has achieved another feat! Now with your Starcomms phone line, you can connect to your Facebook account. If you are regular internet user, by now you would have known that everyone has a facebook account, almost everyone in cyberspace as it is the 2nd most popular website in the world after Google.
To start connecting to Facebook using your Starcomms account, here are what you need:

A Starcomms number
A Facebook account
Connect your Facebook account to your phone number

Just like any other phone app, you need to authorize your Facebook account to connect to your mobile or phone line by sending an authorization code.

However, Let me give you a breakdown of how to do it:
1. Go to http://apps.facebook.com/mobisocial
2. You will be asked if you want to connect it to your account. Hold on.
3. Log into your account first
4. Then click on the ADD button
5. Click all the links there to allow content publishing and click on Next
6. Select operator as Starcomms and country as Nigeria and enter your Starcomms number
7. Send f to 33397 with the required Starcomms number (You may also do this first and get confirmation number before going online)
8. You will receive a confirmation code and you should put it in the text box and click on submit

Yes. You have to add Mobisocial application to associate Facebook with your phone
HOW TO LINK FACEBOOK ACCOUNT WITH MOBILE NUMBER?
The first step is to add Mobisocial Application to your facebook account. Go to http://www.facebook.com/mobisocial and add the application to your facebook account and accept all permissions. Send 'f' to 33397 and enter the phone validation code that is sent via SMS
WHAT WILL THE SERVICE COST ME?
Each message you send costs N8. You get 4 free MTs with each MO.
HOW TO UPDATE FACEBOOK STATUS?
To update status user should send text ' fbstat ' to 33397. For example: 'stat I am at movies'. Once sent, your status will be posted to your facebook account.
HOW TO GET LATEST FACEBOOK FRIEND UPDATES?
To get latest friend updates send 'fb upd' to 33397
CAN I REPLY TO A FRIEND'S FACEBOOK UPDATES?
To reply to a friend's update just follow the command instructions given in the update.
HOW DO I WRITE TO MY FRIENDS WALL?
To write to friends wall, you send 'fb wall m & message>' For example: 'fb wall Ian Botham m Are you coming to the match?'.

B. Select Starcomms and include your phone number with confirmation code:

C: Confirmation of successful Facebook to Starcomms integration:

Now you are good to go. So at N8 per text message, you can connect to your facebook account from Starcomms and keep a tab on your updates.

Why don't you try first by sending f to 33397. if you receive a reply, then it means that it is possible

Perhaps you should send it again. Are you sending from a mobile starcomms phone. You can try calling their customer care too

If there is still no reply to the text, then it probably means that your device is not capable of using the service

Does this thing work on Starcomms Izap. The modem allows me to send text mesages but I want to know if it is possible to use it for facebook connection

I don't think that it is designed for modems of data packs. It works only on voice lins. Your starcomms Izap has its own job and you can use it for internet services only and not the acebook service by text
