Initially, one could buy recharge cards online from reknown Nigerian websites like RechargeNigeria.com and others, but now, I don't really know what is happening. It is not just with Recharge Nigeria but with almost all the websites selling recharge/Top up vouchers online for MTN, Zain, Etisalat and Glo. Some of the other websites that I regularly visit for recharge cards like prepaidnigeria.com, naira.com, easytopupng.com, etranzact.com and others no longer have recharge cards available on their wwebsites. What really is the problem? Is is the scarcity of recharge pins from suppliers or is there now a law restricting the sales of recharge cards online? Or is it just a case of hacking affecting these websites. Were their websites hacked?
In the past, to buy recharge cards online from rechargenigeria.com, all a buyer has to do is go to the website, select the vouchers required, exit with your cart and make payment using Interswitch's Webpay form processing and after that, users are redirected to where they can get the pins either by email, sms or both.
But now, a visit to rechargenigeria.com and trying to select which cards to buy from the drop box tells you NO STOCK, NO STOCK, NO STOCK. The worst thing is that there is no information given on the website informing the public what problems they are having or why popular recharge cards are not available. That is a bad PR and needs to be corrected. It is not just rechargenigeria but all the Nigerian websites who claim that they sell recharge cards online. What really is the reason for being out of stock?
