If you are selling online in Nigeria or just want a means by which you can receive payments online, then one payment platform with which you can do this is Alertpay with the website located at www.alertpay.com.
Alertpay is a company based in Canada but with aiblity to serve clients the world over.
How Alertpay's payment system works
Alertpay allows millions of people from different countries, including Nigeria to send and receive money online as long as they have an Alertpay account. Having an Alertpay account is quite easy because you are qualified as long as you have an email address ans as long as you can provide evidence of your residence in Nigeria. At times, documents like utility bills or valid ID card or even a mobile phone number is required for you to verify you Alertpay account.
Once you are verified, you can request and send money to any other person the world over who equally has an Alertpay account.

How to fund your Alertpay account
There are various ways of funding your Alertpay account from Nigeria and this includes:
- Bank wire (From your domicilliary account to Alertpay's)
- Alertpay exchangers referred from within your Alertpay account (They would require payment using Liberty reserve or other means)
- Money order or cheque to Alertpay

So if you are trying to add big funds to your alertpay account like $1000 - $10,000, using a direct bank wire from your domicilliary account but if you are only transferring smaller payments such as $10 - $100, then using a verified Alertpay exchanger is a much better option.

Doing online business with Alertpay
You can also sell online with Alertpay if you have a business account. This will allow people to be able to pay you as long as they have a credit card. You may also use a Personal Alertpay account to sell online but it may only allow people with an Alertpay account to pay you.
Offering instant downloads and subscriptions
For those selling instant services, downloads, subscriptions or digital items with alertpay, using the company's reliable business tools such as Instant Payment Notification(IPN) or Encrypted Payment Details(EPD).
How IPN works is that it sends an alert to your website when a payment has been made, you can then decide to complete the process and deliver items if payment is success. EPD works by sending a TripleDes encryption to your return url which you can decode using the same EPD and with the security key which should be embedded within the decryptor. Don't worry if you don't know how to decrypt Alertpay's EPD or handle the IPN, you can get a web programmer to do that for you or you can buy a ready made script online.

How to withdraw from your Alertpay account
In Nigeria, you can equally withdraw funds online from it using the withdrawal link located within you Alertpay account.
The link allows you to receive your funds so far using any of te ff means:
- Cheque from Alertpay (may take 21 days to clear and also requires a domicilliary account)
- Bank wire (requires a domicilliary account)
- Using an Alertpay exchanger (Can withdraw to liberty reserve account and then to bank account using LR exchangers in Nigeria)

Why I recommend Alertpay
It is simply because in Nigeria, it is much more used than Paypal and has a lot of users already signed up for it and so it is a much better means of receiving payments online in the country

Yes if there are any Alert exchangers in Nigeria, they will pay you directly into your account. But using alertexchanger.com, they can convert it to Liberty reserve for you which you can sell to Liberty R exchangers in Nigeria that would equally pay you with bank deposit. A third way to do this is by bank to bank transfer but for that you would need a domicilliary account

You can add your dollar card but you cannot withdraw with a prepaid credit card in Nigeria. You can withdraw from Alertpay using cheque or bank wire to your bank account. You may aslo withdraw from alertpay using an exchange service like exchangezone.com

You can't withdraw from a visa card to Nigeria using Alertpay. I think that options works for a few countries like the USA and Canada. You can only withdraw in the following ways
- By internation cheque which you can cash in a Nigerian domicilliary account
- By bank wire to a dom account

Another option is to swap your alertpay funds for liberty reserve at a currency exchange site like exchangezone.com and them sell your lr in minutes. You will then get your naira equivalent in your local bank account
