Are you tired of going to the bank only to meet annoying or slow service cashiers? Do you get tired of waiting so long at the bank just because you want to give them your hard earned money for keeps? Well, the good news now is that Nigerian banks are gradually deploying Automatic Teller Machines that can accept cash deposits.

Although, this is no mean big feat by international standards given that many other countries outside Nigeria already use deposit capable ATMs but it's relatively new in Nigeria and it's practically going to be able to make it easier for people to deposit money in their bank account without the need to meet a human bank employee.

I have to say that it's not every Nigerian that will be able to use this service since many are even not using ATMs yet as a result of illiteracy, but it's going to help a lot of smart people save time and effort when trying to deposit money at the bank.

What I like about this service personally is that I can always choose a time to make a deposit since I can go even late at night, early morning or during a period when they are no queues at the ATM to make my deposit.

To make a deposit at an ATM in Nigeria, a customer doesn't need to make use of his ATM card but just his account number, phone number and cash. You just need to press the enter button, choose to deposit, enter the amount you want, insert your cash, confirm the details and then complete the transaction.

I did a deposit lately on a GTbank ATM and I've included a video on how I did it. It's relatively easy as anyone who can read English and also press buttons can easily do it.
