There is a new internet service I'm using right now and the speed is awesome. It's called Smile 4G LTE and my plan comes with a mobile Wifi(miFi) device I can use anywhere, anytime without the need for NEPA as long as my laptop's battery is fully charged. You just need to ensure that the miFi device's battery is charged or you can connect it to your laptop's USB port using a micro-USB cable for charging while using it.

I used to use MTN Hynet but after I had a bad experience with them and no replies from their customer service, I had to try out a new service and Smile welcomed me with open arms. Besides, my Hynet modem required electricity all the time since it came with an AC adapter. Smile's 4G mifi modem is wireless as it has an internal battery that allows it to work without being plugged in to power. I still love MTN Hynet but I'm trying out Smile for now and so far, they've been great.

Smile has an office at the Adeniran Ogunsanya shopping mall which I visited and got a modem along with a 5GB data plan bundled into it for a total price of N12,500. It seemed they were doing a Christmas/New Year promo because it was a discounted price given that the price of 5GB of data plus a Mifi modem was N16,000.

The first day I tried browsing with their modem, the speed was great and I also noticed I could increase the speed from 1 Mbps to 21 Mbps. My initial speed was about 2 Mbps and it was reliable but I wanted it to be faster and so I moved it to 21 Mbps. I've been browsing with Smile for about 2 weeks now and I have just 1GB left out of the 5GB I already subscribed to.

So, one thing I love about Smile is that their service is msotly online and ready to serve you and another thing I love about them is that the validity period for their data bundles are longer that what I get from other ISPs. The validity or expiry period for their data bundles last up to 12 months and so I don't have to be bothered about losing my data or carrying any unused data forward since I'm more likely to use them all up before the year runs out.

My 5GB data bundle is running low and I would need to recharge soon. I've already visited my online Smile account at smile.com.ng/scp and that's why I can get more information about renewing my subscription. I love their payment methods as you can pay online or at their office. One can pay with Quickteller and I'm guessing they may charge me an extra N100 for it but I would rather pay that convenience fee than having to visit their office again.

The payment options available for recharging your Smile internet service account are Smile Airtime balance, Verve, Visa, Mastercard and Quickteller. I would have preferred they also allows bank transfers directly to their accounts but the best option for me now is Quickteller since I'm already using them.
