A shopping mall on the mainland

Located in a serene environment in the heart of Lagos Mainland, Surulere, Leisure Mall, at Adeniran Ogunsanya street, is one of the best places in Nigeria to go to for leisure, fun and shopping

Leisure mall is first and foremost a large shopping mall that hosts a lot of top brand retail stores and businesses that offer various services and products which attract a lot of people on a daily basis.

Surulere is a growing urban center which has more land than Lagos island. In the last 10 years or so as Lagos gradually turns to a metropolis, she has seen a rapid growth in real estate investment mostly for commercial purposes. It was originally designed as a simple residential town for medium income Nigerians but it is gradually converting into a business empire. With banks and big businesses spreading their reach outside the Lagos island, Surulere has become the next destination for foreign investments from BRICS countries.

List of some shops hosted at the Leisure mall

Facilities

  1. Parking space: The space is really wide and Cars are allowed to come in through the right gate and leave through the left gate. Parking fee starts from around N100 per hour. Don't lose your ticket else you may pay more.

  2. Rest room: Pretty nice toilet that is hygienically convenient

  3. Escalator: They've got nice escalators for going up and a staircase for going down

  4. Central air conditioning: Once you enter the building, you almost forget about the hot Nigerian weather outside.

Car Park: Cars are allowed to enter into the shopping mall's parking space from the right gate after collecting a ticket on entry and they are allowed to leave by the left gate on paying a parking fee based on the number of hours parked. Losing a parking ticket attracts a fine and so avoid that. If you choose not to park inside or you came in by foot, you are only allowed to enter by the central door and not the gates since those are for cars. So only vehicles are allowed to use the 2 gates while people are allowed to use the central door for safety reasons.

Mr Price: On my first visit to the Leisure mall, one of my first places to call at was Mr Price, a smart priced retail clothing store. They sure do offer quality clothing at low prices unlike what you would get at boutiques. Mr Price has a way of pricing their clothes which are available for men, woman as well as children. With them, you can hardly ever go wrong on getting reasonable prices for new clothes. Don't expect to buy US designer clothes there like Kenneth Cole or Tommy Hilfiger.

Inside: Above the ground floor, there is a first floor hosting a couple of restaurants that can satisfy you hunger. You'd need to take a flight of stairs from the ground floor to get there though. On the right before the sliding door, there is LEGO, a toy store for kids. As you approach to enter the motion detecting sliding door, it opens for you, probably operated with infra-red tech, and you then enter and be greeted by an array of food restaurants such as Barcelos and Eddie King burger. There is also the comfort you get from a central powered a/c system and there are enough seats for everyone. If you are hungry or just want a treat, you should first eat before going any further.

Cinema: There is also a popular cinema located at the Leisure mall called The Filmhouse. It's a competition to Silverbird cinemas and Ozone cinemas. As you proceed further away from the restaurants' lobby, you'd see an escalator that would take you to the 2nd floor where you would see the Filmhouse. They do have a whole lot of nice movies that are showed on a daily and weekly basis and at moderate prices too. When it comes to pricing, The Filmhouse does offer a better price than their competitors. You would be able buy tickets in advance to watch a movie and they are discount deals too. They do feature some of the latest movies. Rather than watch pirated movies which are common in Nigeria, you should take some time out with your loved ones to watch original movies in HD.
