Paypal is one of the newest forms of online paymnet in Nigeria and there is a growing number of users on the platform. There are some Nigerians who hold a Paypal Nigeria account and there are those who hold a foreign based Paypal account. The god thing is that they can now use their Paypal accounts to shop online and get the items delivered to their homes.

There are growing number of online shopping websites now available to Nigerians and while some are locally based some are international shopping websites.

Most local online shopping websites in Nigeria I know for now don't yet accept Paypal as a form of payment and I guess it's because Paypal Nigeria doesn't yet allow users in the country to receive payments and so having to operate a foreign based account just for the sake of selling with Paypal might not make sense for them for now. However, there are a growing number of foreign based websites that now ship to Nigeria and also accept Paypal payments from Nigeria and I just want to write about some of them here.

1. eBay: This is a top online shopping website based in the US and is an online trading platform that allows a lot of merchants to do business with buyers and the main means of settlement is Paypal. Nigerians are allowed to shop on eBay as long as they are visiting from a US IP address or location and have the items shipped to their US address where they have residence or a mail forwarding service. Nigerians abroad can shop on eBay and Pay with Paypal however Nigerians at home would just have to set up an additional mail forwarding service that would allow them to ship to Nigeria after making their order and payment using Paypal. Although some merchants may opt to deliver only to Paypal verified addresses and so they might raise a flag when they see it is a Nigerian address, most will deliver to a US address you specify. Alternatively, you can use a Paypal US account.

2. MiniInTheBox: This is a cool online shopping website with their location in the USA but which allows buyers from around the world to buy tech stuff and gadgets and get an international shipping to anywhere in the world including Nigerian. MiniInTheBox offers direct shipping to Nigeria using a parcel service that is delivered via Nigeria's postal service and they also accept payments from Paypal accounts domiciled in Nigeria. I recently made an order fro a Power bank from them, paid with my Paypal and I have received the package from NIPOST. I highly recommend them for buying your gadgets and accessories. You might find it is cheaper to buy from them than to buy from local online shopping websites.

3. ASOS: This is a cool online shopping website based in the UK that deals mainly in fashion items such as clothes, shoes and other wardrobe items. They accept Paypal payments and also offer direct shipments to Nigeria. Sites like ASOS are already a popular destination for Nigerians who have been paying with their Credit/Debit card and now they can also pay with Paypal. ASOS offers free worldwide shipping and they sell really cool clothes and footwear too. So if you are thinking of buying UK clothing online in Nigeria, a site like ASOS will do just fine.

4. DHGate: Thinking of buying items online and at wholesale prices? Well, DHGate is the place to go for your shopping and they also accept Paypal payments from Nigeria. DHGate is a Chinese based websites that ships to most countries worldwide and they offer buyers access to many affordable items produced in China - The world's current major exporting nation. In case you didn't know, the world now buys from China. If you are looking for an alternative to Aliexpress and with the option of Paying with Paypal, you should try out DHGate.

When doing your online shopping on any of the above international shopping websites, I've noticed that they do offer free shipping internationally but this normally might take about 30 to 60 days and it will be posted through NIPOST. You are however allowed to choose a faster shipping method such as DHL but that might cost you more.

Once your order has been shipped and it is send through NIPOST, you just need to go to the office with a valid ID card, submit a copy and request for your package which is normally linked to the tracking number provided by the seller. You might also pay some custom duty if any that is linked to your package.

Anyway, the good thing is that they accept Paypal payments from Nigeria and would send the package to your address once you have placed your order.

There are many other online shopping websites that allows Nigerians to pay with Paypal and still get it delivered but I just mentioned the few I know and have had some experience with.

If you've had any experience with online shopping using Paypal in Nigeria or have any questions or contributions, free free to share them here.

Even you can consider shopping at Coco Fortes. Since it allows multiple payment options it would be nice to get your product easily. No need to enter into third party websites for your payment.

My point exactly. I thought with payall one will be ble to shop on all foreign site that hitherto doesn't accept Nigerian based credit or debit card. There is no use registering with paypal at a cost when most sites.won't still accept payment from Nigerian based paypal. Not worth it jare.
