It depends on what you use it for and how you use it. It may also depend on your geographic location. In Nigeria, having a laptop is good for students and mobile professionals. It is even recommended if you are a home user in a country where electricity is not available 24-7. Having a laptop can make you more efficient than a desktop in Nigeria since desktops require more stable power supply.

However, desktops are good for businesses since they work harder and faster and hardly get overheated unlike laptops.

So it depends on your frequency of computer use. For a 24 hr use, desktops are more efficient and can last longer if they are constantly powered. Laptops are good for frequent use. Personally for me as a blogger, I prefer laptops.
