Free Internet Browsing

Is it really possible to have free internet browsing? That is to be able to browse the internet for free.
Free browsing came to Nigeria with the growth of telecommunication services and especially from networks like MTN, Celtel(Now Zain) and Glo, then Etisalat. Free browsing was offered for customers mostly using GPRS and now 3G technology. It was offered as a promo by these firms who used it as a way to attract a lot of customers to start using the service just like DSTV mobile is now offered for free by MTN to first time users.
However, users of mobile internet browsing seem to have devised a way of browsing the internet for free using these same networks by using proxies and ip addresses which have not yet been blacklisted by the browsing networks. However with the introduction of browsing fees for internet browsing with GSM firms, a lot of subscribers have panicked and are not able to pay the high prices of browsing the mobile internet for Pay as you go fees as high as N500 per hour.
While some internet users have found a way to browse the internet for free using free browsing tricks, others have also found a way to browse the internet by making money online such that internet browsing is paid for by their online activities.
So, in summary, there are two users have been able to browse the internet for free:
- By using free browsing tricks
- By paying for internet browsing using the internet

Whichever way they seem to do it, the bottom line is that internet browsing comes at a price, whether it's free or not. Using free browsing tricks comes at a cost to the providers while paying for it comes at a cost to subscribers.
I am hoping that Internet service providers in Nigeria would be willing to bring their service plans lower such that it would be more attractive to users
