What do you think about the NYSC monthly allowance being paid to Nigeria Corpers monthly? Is it enough for you or is it more than enough?
Nigerian corpers are being sent to different states across the federation for a one year programme in order to serve the fatherland in those areas and they are normally being paid a monthly allowance for their upkeep while serving. While some corpers are also being paid in their places of primary assignment like schools, hospitals, banks or other establishment besides the monthly allowance.
Is it really ok? Should it be reduced, increased or totally withdrawn? What are your thoughts?

When I served, it was N9000. It was only enough for food and not transport or any other thing. We still had to borrow money from friends or at times call home to get more funds. Since it is just an allowance, one can just manage but it is not really enough for survival

This questions should be asked to the federal government! I think federal government should raise up the allowance to satisfying one,they shouldn't let poverty hold the corpers,the minimum wage 18000 is too small for them,talk more of the widows might they receive,finally i think the federal goverment should have a review and speed up the allowance for a better tomorrow...Thanks

i'm begging my fellow co-members that we should not deceive our self becouse federal government have bring the issue of minimum wage for campaing but not to help corpers and civil servant. Thank you all

It's barely enough for recharge card talkless feeding nor transportation. From where i stay to primary assignment is 500naira daily! Calculate d rest!

We should not deceive ourselves. A monthly $64 is rather too meagre for corps member who will be posted to an area far from his relations who can assist when he/she runs shot of cash. Nigeria government should consider the harsh economic condition in the country and the menace of insecurity;and give an upward review to corpers' allowances.
