Why is the dollar getting stronger

I would like to know the real reason why the US Dollar is getting stronger day by day given that global recession began from America. Should it not be getting weaker?

I think he means vs all other currencies, the us dollar is really getting stronger. I think it's because of the bail out they did and also they are now more conservative on spending. Americans everyhwere are in recession mood and even the rich ones are being careful not to spend and this is really affecting the world. Perhaps, it would help reduce global warming. We really needed the recession, let the world go green again.

the dollar is getting stronger because they are no longer buying oil. When oil price price falls, the dollar rises
