Well have you started? You need to. I'm talking about blogging. It's no longer news that you can make money online from blogging, unless you're just hearing this for the first time. The internet is a very vast medium that has helped connect people across the world, Nigeria inclusive. If you really want to start blogging, i wouldn't advise you to quit your job just yet. Blogging is something you can do even while keeping a job as it involves writing and publishing your work online. It comes from a pool of knowledge that you want to share with other people and a platform by which you can publish your write-ups or thoughts is by means of a blog. To make money from blogging, you need to first of all know what niche or passion you want to blog about, make your blog posts everyday and then commercialize it. It is said that 70% of Nigerians live below $2 a day, blogging can help you live above this. Bloggers, even in Nigeria can make much more than this. SO how do you really make money blogging in Nigeria? I would suggest these following steps: 1. Set up a blog. Get one designed for you by a website designer if you want a custom design or you can use a free template like blogger of WordPress. 2. Select a passion you want to blog about for instance - Sports, News, Music, Movies, Lifestyle, fashion, celebrities e.t.c. . 3. Make blog posts everyday. Write about various topics centered around your niche and try to post as much as 500 topics in a month. 4. Commercialize your blog. Now that you already have a lot of blog posts and are still writing, you can make money from your blog by adding products and services from an affiliate account that you've signed up with. You can sign up with Amazon affiliates.

Well, Charles, I f you would really like to start making money by blogging in Nigeria, perhaps it will be better if you tell us the website where you have a blog first and then people can contribute on how best to make money from it. One way I would suggest you start making money from blogging is to blog about for e.g. MTN, Cell phones or Nigerian movies. You should post at least 500 blog posts each with at least 500 words and you would definitively start making money within 3 - 6 months Posted by Stella Eyo

Charles, what you need are the right topics or niche to blog. It can be hard if your topics are not interesting to the general readers. Popular topics can get you more money from Adsense. Again, you need to do some SEO on your site such that it would rank high on search engines like Google and Yahoo

It is one thing to set up a blog and another thing to know what to write about. Since you may not exactly be good in Seo, why don't you just focus on writing about tech stuff like computers, laptops, phones, Internet and others in this area. Those are really what brings in the money. Health topics are also good if you can have a blog about that.

My best advice to those who don't know about setting up a blog is to contract it out to a web or blog designer. All you would need is the cash. Getting a blog designer to set up one for you could cost you around N15,000 to N20,000 for their services.
