Thinking about how to start making money online in Naija even if you have to deal with a lot of local factors? Well, I can confidently tell you that it is quite possible if you really want to.
Making money online requires at least three things:
1. A product
2. A means of getting paid
3. Traffic.

1. A product
This can be a product or service. It is simply what you have that you can offer to people online. You can develop something like an e-book, food recipe, farming techniques, shopping tips, video tutorials or other services like membership sites, video on demand, payment services, news and information to subscribers and so on.
You just need to have and give something that you know that a lot of Naija's internet users need. For instance, you know a lot of Jamb students are looking for past questions or post UTME past questions, if you can provide it for them online as in downloads or give them an address where they can get it. All these are services and you can sell it for a fee. You may even develop an online portal for students to do practice questions when preparing for an examination - That is a service.

2. Payment
You need to be able to collect payment online if you want to be able to make money in Naija. You could choose services of online companies like Liberty reserve, Alertpay, Interswitch, Etranzact, VTN or others. You would need a shopping cart for that, keep a record or orders and other transactions. You may as well use direct bank deposits if you wish the only set back being delay in meeting the needs of your customers.

3. Traffic
Being able to make money online in Naija requires traffic. Traffic from search engines, friends and referrals, e.t.c. If you have a website, you will need to be able to bring people who have needs to your product website where you can satisfy their needs. Search engine optimization can help you to achieve this. Getting linked from other popular websites like blogs and forums can also help bring traffic to your site and hence increase the sales of your ready to sell product/service.
