This election in the US is something that is unprecedented. It's an election in which the ruling republican party spearheaded by Senator John McCain is fighting tooth and nail with another Senator from the Democratic party to be the nest President of America. McCain on one hand is supported by mostly conservative Republicans while Obama, the man who could be the first black American president, is however the popular choice for President, both in the Media and opinion polls. Obama, young and dynamic good looking man in his 40s is facing a 70+ year old John McCain who is also a respectable senator and one time Vietnam Prisoner of war. Obama has a way with words and is media friendly. A lot of Americans are quite dissatisfied with the Bush/Republican administration and really want a seroius change in washington and when faced with the option of choosing between the dems and the republicans, Obama seems to be a more believeable choice who many hope will solve the country's staggering economic problems. Now with stocks on wall street crashing ans the global finanacial crises, the 2008 presidential election between Obama and McCain seems to be something that requires every American to make it their responsibility to vote in the elections coming up in November. Funny enough, McCain has also been hammering on Change in the white house policies and tax cuts which was not initially part of his campaign strategy but Obama's and thinking that he has been a supporter of the Bush's govt in the past, it's funny to believe if he can actually bring out the much needed change in Washington. McCain claims that he can handle national security more than Obama, but the main problem in the society now it the economy, and this is what Americans believe Obama would be able to do well than McCain

Does Mccain really stand any chance. It's just a few days to the d-day and we still have undecided votes. i'm hoping a lot of republicans would swing to Obama on that day.

Obama vs McCain, there's no comparism, Obama has virtually won, he's got almost all the votes he already needs and still more are coming. It would be a Miracle for McCain to still win after losing many states in the popular polls, he's still a far cry from winning and if he loses Pennysylvania, he would have even lost before the election day.

I think it's just a coronation for Obama, everyone knows that he's by now the most popular candidate for president, let's all put our hands together and pray for him, he may even be the key to stopping this economic recession

I think it's time for God to show us what he wants in America, it's not just about a black man being ppresident but also the fact that someone from a humble background, seemingly unknown democrat could become so known and loved by the press and even his former foes. I was glad when Hilary and Bill endorsed him for president. It's only a matter of days for all these Bush rubbish to end, i wish him Godspeed.

What does it take to be president? Obama doesn't know anything about national security and he's more African that American, we should vote for someone we know, someone like our own very true noble son, John McCain, for in John we trust

How many of the voters really know these politicians personally? You claim that you know very little about Obama, but how much do you really know about McCain except that he was an injured Vietnam soldier and a P.O.W. He even served in Bush's govt. Bush is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Republican campaigns and i don't see any reason why McCain would depart from his path. He's a strong Bush ally and only wants to garner in Obama's campaign for change even though he believes in it. Obama harped a lot about not just change, but one that we can believe in. Now between Obama and McCain, who is more believeable? Someone who has been much involved in the white house and someone who's coming from the outside? Ofcourse the latter, Obama has made it clear time without nuber that he strongly opposes the Bush domestic and foreign policies, we should stick to him

Palin is trouble all over. From her niece's to her office as governor. Not everyone seems to be haapy with her recently and the press inclusive. She has quickly turned from an asset to aliability for the McCain camp, now he can't get rid of her

The results are out and Obama has won the election with a very wide margin. He got 338 electoral votes . This is even more than what he needed to win the election the democratic party has even won 56 seats although they needed 51 for a majority while the Reps had only 41.
