WAEC refers to West African Examinations Council. This examinations body is spread across countries in West Africa with offices in their respective countries. Students leaving their secondary school take part in WAEC examinations before or after their school days to get qualified for higher institutions. The results come out a few months after the WAEC exams and then students are allowed to check their results at the WAEC offices. In the past, result checking was done mainly by visiting the WAEC offices which was not condusive for both students and officials. Now, Ghana WAEC has introduced an online portal at ghana.waecdirect.org for checking their results. To check your WAEC results online, just go to ghana.waecdirect.org and log in providing your details. The basic details you will need to use the website are as follows:
- Index Number:
- Examination Type:
- Examination Year:
- Card Serial Number:
- PIN:

Here is the procedure:

1. Enter your 9-digit Index Number.
2. Select the Type of Examination (e.g. S S S C E).
3. Select your Examination Year eg. 2003.
4. Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
5. Enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card eg. 012345678912.
6. Confirm your Index Number and Examination Year. This is to ensure that your examination information is correct.
7. Click on Submit and wait for the display in the popup window. This may take several minutes.

    the Ghana waec online site is having technical difficulties making is hard for the site to display, i think they should try their best to resolve this issue,it's taking too long,it is very bad.
