I'd like to register a domain name but i don't know how to go about this. What do you suggest

Why don't you try qservers.net. They are a nice domain company

Signonafrica.net is equally a good company. There are a whole lot of others such as mcreal.net, nairadomains.com. godaddy, netfirms, aplus, wild west domains and so on.
Most of the domain registrars in Nigeria are not really domain registrars but are more like middlemen, unless you want to register a .ng domain, as for .com and others, there are mainly registered in the US and you could do it yourself by ordering and paying online with your credit card. It would only take a few seconds
