Is Google sms now operating in Nigeria? Well, it's a welcome development and it seems they are partnering with telecom companies like MTN. This afternoon as I just checked my balance on MTN by dialling *556#, i got the reply, "Your Xtra connect bal is N219.53. Get info on word defnitions, sports, news and much more on your mobile using Google sms. To start, text Help to 4664. Costs N10". When i then sent to word help to 4664 as prescribed, i got the ff reply, "Google sms search (sms.google.com.ng) Text to 4664 for results eg NEWS earthquake, SCORE liverpool, DEFINE alia, HOROSCOPE aries. Terms at m.google.com/tos". It appears that if the subscriber wants to get information about a word, he first needs to type the sort of informations he seeks and then the word in question, for eg SCORE arsenal. This is a very good introduction and Google is touching the hearts of Nigerians by this act. Google doesn't charge for the sms only MTN charges N10 per text that we send. Ordinarily i was thinking that in the first place, MTN, Zain and Glo should have been the ones introducing the service for providing sms dictionaries for users but in this case, Google has become the giant. I heard the service is also available in Ghana.

This is really helpful, but don't you think it will help students to cheap more easily in Jamb or WAEC?
