A lot of MTN subscribers have been receiving sms texts on their phones by scammers informing them that they have won in promotions by mtn in the sum of N1million. These scammers seek to make money from mtn customers who are not well informed by directing them to a website dedicated for the said may rewards, collect their personal details including their bank pin numbers and telling them they will get to them shortly. A lot of people seem to be falling for this trick as these scammers would not ask you for your money. It is olny when your personal details have been compromised like moeny being withdrawn from your bank account via atms or online using your pin and details, that's when they finally realise that it was a scam. MTN has warned customers and the general public at large about these smses from scammers/419ers as they would not send you any text informing you of your winnings. MAY Rewards site that is sent to your phone does not belong to mtn as mtn's official site for Nigeria is mtnonline.com or by your phone at wap.mtnonline.com.
