MTN is now offering 3.5 G services which is a much higher and faster internet service than GPRS. 3.5G services perform at its best on mobile phones and gadgets with 3.5g capabilities such as the Nokia E or N series and a couple of other phones.
MTN Offers these data services for a fee and allows you to subscribe for them on a prepaid or post paid basis.
To manually configure the Internet settings for your phone, you need to get to the internet services area on the phone such as gprs settings or broadband or other and set the following there;

* GPRS/3.5G Settings
* Account Name = MTN GPRS
* IP Address = 10.199.212.2
* Port = 9201 (for WAP) or 8080 (for HTML)
* Username = web
* Password = web
* Access Point Name (APN) = web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net or the APN settings for your specific country
* Domain = mtn.com.ng
