Na wao. Even in Lagos, MEND is showing their strength. There has been an attack against an oil facility at Apapa and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta has claimed responsibility for the bombing that took place there. From the creeks of the Niger Delta, the oil militants are waging their war against the Federal government for reaping the Niger delta of all its riches without giving much back to them. They said that the attack was also in its continued rejection of Yaradua's amnesty to them and to enforce the release of their supposed leader, Henry Okah who was repatriated from Angola for illegal gun running activities linked to violence in Nigeria's delta region. The report concerning the attack read thus; "Heavily armed" fighters attacked the Atlas Cove jetty at about 10:30 p.m. local time yesterday, Jomo Gbomo, a spokesman for the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, said in an e-mailed statement. The Nigerian Navy Director of Information, Commodore David Nabaida, confirmed the attack. The incident led to a fire outbreak and we lost some men," Nabaida said by phone from Lagos without giving further details. " Yaradua has given the militants a window to renounce their activities and embrace amnesty before Oct 4 2009, what happens next after that, we don't know yet.

I am scared. Are we still safe in Nigeria when the govt can't even protect Lagos from attacks like these. What is the Nigerian navy doing? Where is JTF?

That's pretty bad. Nigeria doesn't seem too safe, but oh, when i think about Somalia, i thank God for Nigeria. At least MEND seems to have some regard for human life. They focus mainly on attacking Federal facilities rather than people as in the case of terrorist activities. Even, the recurrent homicide in some Northern states every now and then under the guise or religious crisis should be termed true terrorism, cos a lot of people have been killed by people who have no regard for human life. I kind of support Yaradua and the Borno state govt for stopping the evil plans of the Boko Haram sect when they were terrorizing the people.
