Make money online with Amazon's associate program

You must have visited the Amazon website at one time or other. Perhaps, it was because of your interest in a particular electronic device like the Sony HD camera or even a high end Nokia phone. Amazon.com is the largest online retail store and it offers the largest range of products which would be able to satisfy the needs of global consumers and their household. Amazon.com deals with products ranging from books, dvds, music, electronics, mobile phones, DVD players and even toiletries.

Making money online through Amazon requires that you become a sales affiliate by helping in promoting the sales of any of the approved products in the Amazon affiliate program. The Amazon associate/affiliate program is one that allows you to sign up and start earning a commission on any product millions of Amazon customers buy worldwide as long as they come into the site using a referral linkg associated to your account. You don't earn a commission if the buyer visits the website directly and you don't earn a commission even if you referred the consumer unless you are registered as a member of the Amazon affiliate program. So how do you really start making money online in Nigeria with Amazon? Well just follow these steps:

1. Go to https://affiliate-program.amazon.com and register
2. Enter your account and select products to promote
3. Set up a website or blog and blog about the product e.g. like the Aple Ipad or just mp3 songs and the artistes e.g. Mariah Carey or Michael Jackson
4. Selecting high paying products can earn you a higher commision on sale but it may take more time to make a sale
5. Promote your blog by adding more content around the product you are promoting by making updates or newer topics and allow comments.
6. You will receive and international cheque from Amazon when your earnings have reached the minimum payment threshold

Note:
1. To increase your earnings as an Amazon associate, the key lies in driving traffic to your blog or website and so you need to have an attractive website that search engines like Google would rank higher. If you are promoting products like mp3 or apple Ipage or even the Amazon kindle, then you should ensure that your blog ranks high for those keywords.
2. If your blog is new, it would take like 6 months for you to start making money from the program unless you have a large number of direct traffic

Initially, Google adwords was used as a way to drive traffic to Amazon store by most affiliates but now I think there's a ban on it by Amazon and even Google no longer approves of this too
