This election in the US is something that is unprecedented. It's an election in which the ruling republican party spearheaded by Senator John McCain is fighting tooth and nail with another Senator from the Democratic party to be the nest President of America. McCain on one hand is supported by mostly conservative Republicans while Obama, the man who could be the first black American president, is however the popular choice for President, both in the Media and opinion polls. Obama, young and dynamic good looking man in his 40s is facing a 70+ year old John McCain who is also a respectable senator and one time Vietnam Prisoner of war. Obama has a way with words and is media friendly. A lot of Americans are quite dissatisfied with the Bush/Republican administration and really want a seroius change in washington and when faced with the option of choosing between the dems and the republicans, Obama seems to be a more believeable choice who many hope will solve the country's staggering economic problems. Now with stocks on wall street crashing ans the global finanacial crises, the 2008 presidential election between Obama and McCain seems to be something that requires every American to make it their responsibility to vote in the elections coming up in November. Funny enough, McCain has also been hammering on Change in the white house policies and tax cuts which was not initially part of his campaign strategy but Obama's and thinking that he has been a supporter of the Bush's govt in the past, it's funny to believe if he can actually bring out the much needed change in Washington. McCain claims that he can handle national security more than Obama, but the main problem in the society now it the economy, and this is what Americans believe Obama would be able to do well than McCain
