9jillions? We are talking about a whooping $1,000,000!
Kizito Egeonu is certainly a very lucky guy. Call it a blessing or luck but this lad is going back to school with more than N150million naira. If i had that kinda of money, what will i do with it...Maybe enter into real estate or build like 5 houses in Abuja or something.

Kizito Egeonu was virtually unknown all over Nigeria until he became the winner of this grand promo by Etisalat. This is definitely an unrivaled promo by a Telecoms company that is just entering the country and I don't think that other competitors in the industry will be at ease with this one. No other Telecoms company has given out such a huge gift to a winner before or even half of it. Now Kizito has carved himself a place in Nigeria's history as the first Nigerian to win a $1million lottery prize.
Kizito Egeonu is a 400 level medical student of the University of Jos and at 20 years old, he still has a bright future ahead of him, well call it brighter....
What do you think he'll do with the money anyway? Get married after graduation? Start his own company? Party at school? Well this kind of money can give you sleepless nights. He definitely needs the grace of God to make the right decision.

Got this from daily Independent Source: An interview with Kizito

Congratulations and welcome to the club of millionaires.

(Laugh) thank you.

Considering your age, don’t you see $1 million as a very big sum which can easily intoxicate you?

It is really a very big sum, overwhelming and fantastic but I think it is not too much for me. Money can never be too much for anybody but it is very big.

Before going for the game did you ever envisage that you would come out as the overall winner?

I dreamt of winning it but I never imagined winning it. If you want to go for a game you will dream of being the winner because that is the ultimate thing but I never thought I would emerge the winner. It is everyone’s prayer to become a millionaire but I never expected it to come this soon.

Your status has just changed overnight and now you are all over the place with security personnel guarding you. Are you comfortable with all this?

I am very comfortable with it and it makes me feel different. At the initial stage I felt they were not giving me the space but now I am getting used to it. It is a welcome feeling and it is a good feeling and I don’t feel awkward with my new status.

Since you won last week what has been the response from your friends?

My friends have been calling and I have been picking their calls and they are ecstatic about my new status. My parents were happy and ecstatic. At the initial stage they felt it was a joke but now they have come to terms with the reality.

How do you intend to spend this money?

For now, I don’t know but I will listen to financial consultants. I will definitely invest it into a worthwhile venture but I will have to see financial experts before I invest.

How about going for holiday?

I am not thinking about anything now not even how to spend N10 from the sum. Maybe I might think about that next week but for now I am still basking in the euphoria of winning that big amount. I will definitely give myself a treat but I don’t know how for now.

What about you getting a car to complement your millionaire status?

I will since I can afford it. If you have such amount wears won’t be your problem neither will a car. All these things are easy to get but I am thinking big on it and how to do something good with the money. I want to have something to show with the money, definitely I won’t squander it on frivolities and non-profitable things.

Your elder brother Gerald, has now informally become your personal assistant carrying your bag and attending to your needs. How do you feel now that your elder brother is serving you?

You call him that but it is fine by me having my brother around me I am more comfortable having him around me.

Why him why not any other person in the family?

We are from a close-knit family but he is about the closest to me.

How much do you intend to give him from the money?

He is already a millionaire he went home a millionaire when he went to the show with me and, basically, the money remains in the family.

Won’t you throw a party for your friends?

I have been thinking about that but I have not made the decision yet. I might do it but I am still skeptical about it.

Has anyone asked you to give him or her some amount from the money?

They have done that jokingly. Everybody who has spoken with me has asked for a share from the money.

Before you came into limelight who were you?

I have always been like this, the only difference is that I am now $1 million richer. I am a medical student at the University of Jos and I am in my fourth year. I was born in Kano and I have been staying in Kano State ever since I was born.

At age 20 you unexpectedly became a millionaire. What are those things that will change about your person and your character?

I am going to remain the same except that I am going to develop the mentality of a millionaire. I am now a rich man and that mentality will come in aside that nothing, not even my friends will change. That I believe is a positive thing.

Are you sure you won’t abandon medicine for your new status?

I have gone a long way in my medical career and I won’t abandon it for my new status. I have invested a lot and my parents have also invested a lot into it so I don’t think this will make me abandon medicine. This has been my passion from my secondary school days and I admire doctors.

Are you sure this won’t affect your academics at least for the mean time that the ovation is still loud?

It won’t. I will still keep my head low; I will still do things I used to do before, go to class, study hard and pay attention in class.

Can you tell us about your background?

I am from a strict Catholic family and the training my parents have imbibed in me will definitely have a great influence on my new status. I was brought up to be contented with everything at my disposal and I have always applied this in all I do hence all my life has been fun.

Before going for the game did you probably pray 15 decades of your Rosary so as to emerge the winner?

(Laughter) I actually prayed to God but I believe that I didn’t win because I prayed; I won because God wants to favour me and he has predestined me to win.

When you won, what were those thoughts that came to your mind?
I was just being crazy then and it was after two days that I knew what I was doing but now I am fully aware of my new status and I have gladly accepted it. I am trying to live up to the standard of my status. I will now live like a millionaire, I react to issues like a millionaire and I won’t fight on the street.

What now comes to your mind anytime you remember that you are now a millionaire?

I bask in this wonderful opportunity and I often ask myself if this is me but I am enjoying every moment of my life now.

Is this your first time of winning in a contest?

Yes.

Do you think you would have won if you were asked questions?

I am below average so I believe I would have won if that was the case. It is all about God’s blessings.

What actually propelled you to go for the game?

Etisalat is a reputable company and when I saw the advert I knew it won’t be a scam and so I participated.

What has been your perception about people you met since you won?

People have been so wonderful to me and nobody has irritated me.

How much do you intend to give your parents from the money?

The money will be in the family even though I would listen to lots of financial advice from experts, the money will remain in the family and I don’t expect my father, my mother or any member of my family to ask for certain amounts from it.

Since you don’t have a girlfriend how soon will you get yourself one now that you have enough cash?

(Laughs) I am not thinking about that now and that is not on my list.

What about those that will wink at you or ask you out?

If any girl will wink at me I may not wink back as well but I won’t tie a handkerchief on my face because I want to avoid women. I will live my normal life and this is not an opportunity to engage in immoral act. This won’t turn me to a womaniser, I will live a modest life. I will give myself time to have a good time.

Can you let us into your immediate family?

We are cohesive and that was why I came to the show with three of my siblings. I am the fifth child in a family of seven children. My father is a businessman and he invests into anything that is profitable my mother is also into business.

Here is an opportunity for you to enhance their business by pumping money into it.

Yes, I will, but the money, as I have said earlier, will remain in the family.

What lessons have you learnt since you became a millionaire?

You could be a big fish in a small pond that doesn’t mean that you have actually reached the peak. I am learning and I think I am learning fast how to deal with issues in life.

How do you feel coming into Lagos for the first time?

Lagos is cool and beautiful.
