MTN has for long being offering free midnight calls/airtime to her numerous customers which are the largest in Nigeria. MTN customers have been enjoying these benefits as well as many other freebies. This free midnight call begins from 12.30a.m to 4.30a.m when most people must have already gone to sleep and so there would be less phone traffic which would make calls cheaper or free. A lot of people are happy about this offer that has been ongoing non-stop most particularly students and people who may not have to go to work or are on an early morning schedule. It also allows Nigerians who have not spoken to their families for long time from other states to do so without fear of accumulating phone bills. During the midnight call, all one needs to do is make sutre that he has at least N100 credit on his phone and has an MTN sim card with which he can make calls with. The calls he then makes within these hours 12.30 - 4.30 a.m will be free of charge, no credit removed. A lot of people have seen the good side of these but others equally frown at this especially sleeping partners or rommates who are burdened with the other person talking on the phone when sane people are meant to be sleeping. Midnight calls have become addictive to many who have now formed the habit and end up sleeping in the classrooms, offices or commercial buses.
When next you see a Nigerian sleeping in the day when he ought to be working, it may not be far from the fact that he's enjoyed free calls courtesy of MTN Nigeria.
