I had been using the windows 98 version of internet explorer in the past and become used to it but later on came updates which I realized made my browsing experience much slower.
The current Internet explorer 8 IE8 is damn too slow in loading up. When I click on the IE8 icon and my Firefox icon, firefox loads much faster than IE8 does and that's one of the reasons I have preferred using Mozilla's firefox than IE8.
Another problem is that IE8 sometimes hangs and slows down my browsing experience and that is why I am switching to Firefox.
Internet explorer used to be more stable on my computer and then it now came with tabs and a lot of addons that were slowing it down or something. Google's chrome browser is becoming even more useful to me as it is much faster but doesn't really carry things I need such as news feeds and other addons but it is quite good for a much faster browsing experience
